Why would you want to? It will put a thick, smoky mist of vaporized 10W-40 into the air all around you.

I have used grease in my grease can, the clearish red high temp grease makes the least smoke cloud. The cheap black wheel bearing grease is a smoke screen, whith lithium in between.

For my SWR HEMS, spit or water. It doesn't take much.

I normally shoot mine wet. My 22/45 -TAC-62 I dunk the muzzle in a container of water every magazine.

Water seems to win for convenience. Wire pulling gel is another favorite.

Also ultrasound gel, especially if repackaged.

You want to know what motor oil looks like when you use it in a can?....

Here is a video of just that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXqtiXhTweE

We built this gun and the customer wanted the can to look like the original gun so we made it out of carbon steel and parkerized it to match the host. To set the park, we immerse the freshly parkerized components in motor oil. I put the can together and thought I would shoot the oil out of it.... I gave up on the 3rd mag. The smoke was amazing. Use something else, is my suggestion.

OK, motor oil is definitely out. Where can you find ultrasound jelly or is that just KY, and what did you mean by repackaged?

Thanks guys.

The 'repackaged' comment was likely in reference to the CCF Suppressor coolant.

BigDave, someone actually wanted a Tec9 integrally suppressed? Did you try to talk them out of this or do you think it was a good choice after seeing the finished product? I'd have ethical issues with putting an integral on a jam-o-matic.

The repackaged comment was an in-joke. Don't mind it. There were some places you could get free samples of ultrasound gel, I don't have any of the links though.

Look into the clear wire-pulling gel. I can't recall ever hearing a bad thing about it.

it worked most of the time, it was actually fun to shoot, just not reliable. The smoke did get annoying though. It was a nice gun, but it was muzzle heavy since we made the can out of steel, due to the parkerizing aspect.

I dont want to do another one....

David

I got some wire pulling gel. It worked great. I don't have any meters but to mine and my neighbors naked ears my USP45ct w/Blackside was quieter than my paintball gun. I guess the neighborhood cats better watch out...
