The Advantage Arms is a aluminium slide, Tac Sol is a steel slide. The steel slide will feel more like the standard weight.
My wife has an Advantage Arms for her G23, loves it.

Re: Best CCW for $500?
I'm a SIG kinda guy. However, I have been known to carry a Glock. Family members all carry their own Glocks. You can get a police trade-in for about $320. Police Express Supply has more 22's, occasional 23's. Spend another $300 on a 22 conversion kit and shoot the heck out of it at $6.50 for a box o...

Re: Ban on felons carrying firearms includes antique guns, c
Convicted felon many times over for assault, robbery, drug dealing, etc etc. Definitely not some guy minding his own business when we contacted him. The gun also was stolen. We think we got him as he looking for his next victims, unknown for sure. He had no idea the date of manufacture made a differ...

Re: Ban on felons carrying firearms includes antique guns, c
I've run into this a number of times before. Convicted felons frequently do hunt and shoot with a blackpower/muzzleloader, as well as other antique firearms usings cartrdiges. There are a number of cartridge gunsguns that fall under the antique firearm definition since part or all of their productio...

Re: I call the 911, cops arrive 13 hours later
I believe it was a 1977 Supreme Court Decision that said the police are not responsible for the safety of an individual. Which makes sense. So if theyre not responsible, I must be, fo rmyself. Tip I thought of with the knive mentioend above - If you have something vaulable that does not have a seria...

I had a reply from the NFA Branch a couple years back that because the barrel was easily removed on my 870 SBS the info should be engraved on the receiver.

Used Gordon West's books to prepare for Tech and General tickets. I'm no-code...Can learn the first 10 characters and then it all runs together for me. My family and close friends have VHF on ham bands for around town. I can get on HF for longer distances. We've used GMRS to keep in touch locally du...

Re: How to survive a bear attack article
I've heard recommendations of bear bells (jingle bells you wear) to let the bear know youre coming and pepper spray if you get attacked. Sometimes hard to tell brown bear scat from other scat. Brown bear scat has little bells in it and smells like pepper. (sorry, couldnt resist). The Governments rec...

I've seen them marketed in the US for wildlife control as well as turning out street lights quickly in an area where a tactical team needed it.

I dont think reading the Koran makes you evil, it's what you do with it. Plenty of examples of someone reading/quoting the bible and using that info worng (Westborough Baptist Church, Christian identity, KKK, etc.)

I and family/friends have flown many times with firearms packed in luggage, declared, etc. Never any hassle or problem. Been doing it since I was 18. However, I have known a few that have lost their guns out of the locked luggage or the entire suitcase lost. Insurance covers it and the guns are ente...

Several years ago I T&E'ed a chest pouch for running that worked pretty good if you wanted to carry something larger than a pocket pistol. It was basically a gun fanny pack on a chest harness. I used the front of the pouch to carry an ipod. I have a friend up in Alaska that uses it on her runs ...

Re: Anyone carrying a Glock 36
My daughter carries a G36 on her CCW. She's 5'5", 130..she shoots it like a house a fire. Out shoots most of the boys and men with their M1911's and other various pistols. The recoil doesnt bother her. She usually carries it in a purse made for CCW. I enjoyed shooting it and got 1 for myself. I...

Re: "Witness Protection" Remington 870 AOW
I'd like to run this by the collective SBS knowledge. A Remington 870 (that previously had a shoulder stock as manufactured) is made into a 12.5" bbl SBS on a Form 1 in the "Witness Protection" style. From the majority here and elsewhere, this can then have a shoulder stock OR a pisto...

Re: SBS double barrel
Maybe wrong term..convert a shotgun with a shoulder stock by shortening barrel to less than 18" and convert to pistol grip. I believe is called a "Weapon from a Shotgun", $200 stamp (thought I had seen that as another version of AOW).

Does the SBS need to have the shoulder stock still attached? If the barrels are shortened and the grip changed to a pistol grip, does it then become an AOW?

Re: Why is the approval process sooo prolonged?
Funds generated by most governement agencies go into the general fund. They do not come back to that agency. The agency is funded through budget requests based on work load and then divied out by Congress. The USPS is the only exception that I can think of to that. Might be others but not many. It u...
