Re: WTK Advise for 3-gun suppressor?

I'm not condoning anything illegal here But if you are in an area that would allow you to not register a suppressor you could make a thread together unit and replace baffles as needed , if perhaps you are in a situation to shoot enough to wear out barrels on your target guns and happen to wear thro...

Re: WTK Advise for 3-gun suppressor?

you could run a 16" barrel and make a reflex style suppressor , 3"-4" past the muzzle and 4" back over the barrel and that would yield very good suppression. Depending on what hand guard you are running you , if you could squeeze a 1.625" tube under it than that would allow ...

Re: WTK Advise for 3-gun suppressor?

ultimately , what is it you are looking to get out of this "suppressor"

are you wanting to just take a bit of the bite out of the muzzle noise

or

are you wanting to try to bring it down to "ear safe" levels.

Re: WTK Advise for 3-gun suppressor?

I would think that for a comp gun you would want the suppressor as light and short as possible. a very small can like 1.625"OD x 4" would take ALOT of the bark out of a gun , be nice and short and light , defiantly would not make it ear safe but since you are wearing ear pro anyway I suspe...

Re: materials for baffles..need some feedback

if you do not intend on welding them then 416 , 410 would be alot easier to cut than any of the 300 series stainless. In all honestly unless you are running a full auto , do a lot of mag dumps or shooting on a really short barrel , after the first 3 baffles you can use 7075 series aluminum for baffl...

Re: Completed form 1 5.56 NATO build

what is the outer tube wall thickness? you can run .065" wall and thread it with 24 tpi and its will be plenty strong for centerfire rifles. your cones look very thick and I'd wager to bet that's where a majority of the weight comes from , the cone wall only need to be .050" ish thick afte...

Re: Machining at it's finest.

a coworker has one for his 308 bolt gun , for the cost and weight its no where near worth it , while it does work and suppress the rifle to hearing safe it does not by any stretch "out perform" any other quality 308 cans that are far more simple to clean and WAY less to go wrong. I haven't...

Re: Tesla Valve

sounds like it may work in the same idea fashion that Crux suppressors work , not so much as increasing turbulence but causing the gasses to stay in chambers longer due to a "vortex" or "eddy" created by the core's baffle

full titanium 30 cal build in progress.

my latest form 1 is a 30 cal can that will be running on my "work gun" 308 and probably by 308 deer rifle outer tube specs are going to be 8.5" long , 1.550" ID , .052"wall. (made from grade 5 bar) all end caps will be grade 5 , press fit then welded in place Rear cap/brake/...

Re: "All caliber" cone design questions

I would make the bottom of the cone flat with something like a 5/16" flat on the inside , this will be easier to machine and will be easier to drill out later. unless you are running a lot of full auto on an SBR or running a really short barrel like 7.5" I honestly do not see the benefit o...

Re: NB That wants to build 338LM can needs help

Lets start off by asking what material , equipment and abilities you have at hand. suggestions can range from threaded aluminum to welded titanium , machined mono core to vice formed freeze plugs. Personally for a can this size on a barrel that long I'd want it as light as possible. 1.75" grade...

Re: blast chamber length

no the cyclone is not magnum rated , I posted the pic as a reference , your can being bigger in OD and a slightly larger blast chamber would make a big difference though. look at the chamber at the left side of the this baffle stack , tat first cmaber is TINY , this is the AAC Titan core http://i205...

Re: blast chamber length

If the first baffle is gonna be a cone then I'd say make it 2" , the cone will protrude down into his space some taking up some volume but you'll still have plenty enough and the front baffle will be far enough away from the crown so as not to cause any heat related issues there. If you are run...

Yea , legally you would have to be there "in possession" of the can with the stamp

Re: Welded in baffles

aye, those pieces look great. I do like the idea of welding the baffle stack with the spacers like the aac design. tho i can see that easily causing warping/distortion. If you made the baffles so they were snapped together like leggos , male to female then held them together under pressure either i...

Re: Welded in baffles

4 , .250" holes TIG welding the baffle in place will hold them for good. that's the way i've build the last few of my cans. As mentioned earlier it saves a lot of weight as well as adding some internal volume. I make my tube significantly thicker wall .080"-.100" to make it rigid for ...

Re: Need someone to make my baffles

in the US you can't legally replace any parts of your suppressor unless you send it out to a company with the proper license , legally you can't have someone make your baffles so you can replace them. your best bet is to send it to a company that will "recore" the can for you.

Re: My Cone K Combo Design

I'd space them at .625" , you should be able to get 8-10 in their depending on your blast chamber. buy a piece of .035" wall titanium tube off of ebay to use as spacers , .080"wall SS tube will give you WAY more strength than needed even with 20tpi threads. with such a big OD and at t...

Re: My Cone K Combo Design

why not use all cones?? you can get more in their and have less weight , I know that K's are said to be better for subsonics but I haven't seen a case where K's were a better choice on a gun that was running both super sonic and subsonic ammo. You can use a .080" wall tube for the whole can and...
