Just having to bore it out of solid bar. Was hoping stainless in tubing would work.

tubless can, blast chamber material
curious about materials. I'd like to make tubeless can for .556. I have some 17-4 for baffles with integral skirts as spacers. What about the blast chamber section of the can. What Stainless will weld to 17-4 cones well?

Easiest way is to buy a can, any can you want to use. Then take a barrel and cut it the length so that with the suppressor disassembled as far as you can, the part that is permanently attached to the barrel measures just over 16" FROM THE BOLTFACE WHEN IN BATTERY to the end of the attached part.

I usually order from Online Metals, mostly because I can drive over and pick up without paying shipping. I also cruise the 'bay and find some deals there.

Re: Any sources of 17-4 Tube?
I don't believe 17-4 commonly comes in tube form. I've made a few suppressors with 17-4 baffles and used 316 as tube. Any particular reason to use the 17-4?

Re: 5.56 Can Smell Test
If I did a cone blast baffle instead of a disk, wouldn't I have to make the shelf at 3 or 3-1/2 inches to compensate for the loss of blast chamber volume from the cone taking up room? Also, It's my understanding that fewer baffles and more open internal volume make for a better rifle can? I was alr...

Re: 5.56 Can Smell Test
I think more baffles. first baffle as cone not flat in 17-4 is plenty, make it .100" wall thickness. Lots of ways to go. Assuming its living on semi-auto I'd make sure to do 2 things, first get an adjustable gas block, second bore it for 30 caliber. Both of those things will help with back pres...

Re: Help me choose a multi cal suppressor?
Hello, I’m wanting a suppressor for hunting. Here is what I’m looking for: A. I’d like to suppress a 350 legend and 45-70. B. I’d also like to get a smokeless muzzleloader some day and suppress it. C. I’d love to hunt with 22lr with it also (about 20 shots a season). What do you recommend for me? I...

Spam, new members, and pending approval for posts
Well, having to approve new members didn't work. There was no way to know who was real and who was a spammer. I think I have the board set up so that anyone can join, but the first several posts by new members must be approved by a moderator prior to them being public. I've been disapproving and del...

Fingerprints and photos are a ATF requirement. In the past a trust or other 'entity' as you say could file without them. The requirements have changed. You can still form a trust, but each 'responsible member" of the trust must submit prints and photos.
No way around it.

Just submitted finger prints on a silencer shop kiosk and payed for stamp for a forum 1 and 4. Waiting for approval so thought I'd try to learn as much as I can. My cousin owns a machine shop so he will be doing most the work First be aware on a form 1 you have to do the work or physically be prese...
