Re: 45 ACP
Have you tried aluminum tube? A lot of great rimfire and most pistol cans have aluminum tubes and maybe even a few aluminum baffles toward the front. Supoosed to help lower the tone. .45 is just louder than other pistol rounds. Have you tried shooting 9mm through your .45 can and see if it is workin...

Re: .350 legend in 9mm cans?
350 Alaskan would be a good choice also, that would be my plan if I went with a 350 Legend. Theres always an excuse to support the industry and buy a new can.
Barrel length is a major player in "what cans can handle". That would probably be my first question

Re: Is Yankee Hill a good suppressor?
Sorry, I thought I responded. YHM are pretty good for the money. They've always had decent performance but been traditionally very heavy and not had the best mounting system (relied on spring tension which is not the most consistent). I believe the Resonator series is a lot more light weight than pr...

12" Grendel & Recce 7
Just built a 12" Grendel using an Odin Works barrel and bolt carrier. 123 grain Hornady Amax through the Recce 7 sounds great, low tone and just under the report of a 22 mag rifle maybe. Very excited about this combo. Odin barrel is nice quality, about a. 074" gas port. Comes with adjustab...

Re: Where are all the threaded 1911's???
Thanks, I'm aware I can order a barrel. I already have a pistol that I put a barrel in. What I'm looking for is a mid-tier 1911 with a threaded barrel already fitted. I want the accuracy and reliability that comes with a properly fitted barrel, and the resale value that only comes from a factory fir...

Where are all the threaded 1911's???
Did I miss something? Dan Wesson seems to have discontinued threaded barrels. Can't find any Springfield or Sig either. Only thing on the market right now seems to be Rock Island.

Re: Running a 22lr Wet
FYI, just about every manufacturer of centerfire rifle cans highly discourages shooting wet. With the very high pressures and velocities of supersonic rifle cartridges bad stiff can happen that just isn't a factor with pistol and rinfire ammo.

Re: What silencer to buy
A .30 caliber can will work fine on all 3 of those calibers. So buy something high quality and you will get good performance while saving the cost of a second can and a second tax stamp. Great cans are available from Rugged, Dead Air, CGS, Energetic Armament, Griffin and Silencerco. Pick a can that ...

Re: Need a recommendation
A lot of people like the YHM Turbo. Its a good performer and reasonably priced. I dont care for the mounting system on it, although it is removable and interchangeable with other industry-standard mounts...but that will bring the cost up I have a Griffin Reece 5 and it is a good performer with a dec...

Re: Guidance needed on threading a tube
Just had a thought, the original topic on threading is a prime illustration of why you shouldn't just chuck up a barrel and thread the muzzle; barrels are tubes and as such are not perfectly straight, nor are the bores

Re: Guidance needed on threading a tube
Fully threaded suppressors has been done at least since Vietnam by Mitch Werbel of SIONICS/MAC, Walsh, Leasure, and myself... The relatively new AB Suppressors Little Bird is fully threaded also. A neat little wrench that is marked with the factory spacing is included and helps the user return to n...

Re: K cup baffle question
Yes you need both and they are 180 from each other. The clip or "scoop" helps create some turbulence that encourages the gasses to flow into the vent hole. Older K baffles had a "mouse hole" at the large end of the V part of the baffle. This was discovered to be unnecessary and n...

Re: 308 Bullet
1:10 is not great so be conservative. Jacketed bullets I probably wouldn't try much over 150 or 165 grains. 150 gr st 1000 fps still hotter than a 9mm pistol so no need to go crazy. Flat base is better because it should be shorter overall than a boat tail of the same weight. Overall length is the re...

Different things can cause a strike. Bad threads, loose threads, unstable bullet/twist rate too slow.

Re: K cup baffle question
The flat face usually has a scallop in the entry hole to contribute to the turbulence. Then there is also a port in the waist of the K Baffle that vents to the V shaped space on the outside

Re: CGS Mod9 fixed barrel spacer cheat?
Eh, this probably falls under the category of things that people do and they "worked fine for me" but that's because they shoot it 10 times and post about it. Copper is soft. Over time it will be eroded by hot gasses (CGS pistons are ported for additional sound reduction) and probably the ...
