Re: Really Large POI Shift with Suppressor
Have you tried tuning the can to your pistol via the booster assembly? It made a HUGE difference for me. Details here: https://www.silencertalk.com/forum/view ... p?t=696947

Re: 9mm Form 1 Suppressor w/ AAC Style K-Baffles
When I first built this I really struggled with extremely poor accuracy issues, until I learned about how to "tune" a piston/booster/can assembly to a pistol. That fixed me right up and I'm thrilled with my accuracy now! Full details of the process here: https://www.silencertalk.com/forum/...

Re: Tuning A Handgun Booster/Can Assembly For Accuracy
So I marked the piston and the can with witness marks at Top Dead Center (where I had painstakingly indexed the stamp on the can body to be perfectly where I wanted it to be while mounted on the gun), and shot 3 round groups at all ten positions. Holy motherf%$king $hit - what a difference!!!! https...

Tuning A Handgun Booster/Can Assembly For Accuracy
My 3rd Form 1 can was a 9mm (build thread here: https://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1543918#p1543918 ). I was really happy with how quiet it was and how well it functioned, but accuracy was TERRIBLE. Like 12" groups that were WAY off POA from unsuppressed. I tried everything - fo...

Re: 9mm Form 1 Suppressor w/ AAC Style K-Baffles
I did some temperature testing back in August that I forgot to report on. The big downside to using aluminum (even fancy 7075) is that it loses about half its strength when it gets over 300°F or so. So this thing is obviously not full auto rated - but I wanted to know if I had to worry at all about ...

Here's the test video: https://youtu.be/CLjzrdariV8
Audio is terrible, as always. The head camera is a Sony HDR-AS50 that gives a better idea of the actual sound. The side view video is an iPhone and the audio from that is about useless - but it shows a better video angle.

9mm Form 1 Suppressor w/ AAC Style K-Baffles
40 more hours of machine time on a 100% manual (we don't need no stinkin' DRO!) 1955 Southbend 9A lathe, and who knows how old Russnok mill, and my 9mm can is done. Machining operations are essentially the same as my 22LR can, but sized up for 9mm. That's all posted here in detail: http://www.silenc...

I'm starting my 3rd now. 22LR was first, then 30 cal. Now 9mm. All from scratch with lathe and mill. Fun stuff, and I learn a lot along the way!

Re: Is it worth getting a titanium tube vs. the stainless steel tube?
Weight vs strength. Titanium is stronger than aluminum, and lighter than steel. If that's worthwhile to you is up to you. It was for my 30 cal can.

I use aircraft grade Simple Green in my ultrasonic. It works OK, but not as well as I'd hoped.
Looking forward to your reports!

Video from the above as an example. Note the echo is louder than the shot itself. Totally subjective and no metering, of course. But one more datum point.

Re: Thermal Defense Solutions suppressors
Another update: I ran this on my 12.5" barrel at the Legion 9/11 Memorial Run N Gun, bouncing it on my back for 7.3 miles through heavy woods and crawling through swamps and 23" drainage pipes along the way. Hits from contact distance to 600 yds. Awkward positions and all. I did notice a L...

I use it on mine, and it works Ok. It gets the lead off, but I still end up having to scrape the carbon deposits by hand to really get them clean.

Re: Thermal Defense Solutions suppressors
Playing catch-up since the board has been down - Here's some more non-scientific anecdotal information: I had it out shooting some VTAC drills on 5/2, and took my ears off for several drills just to see. No discomfort at all. And the shots never would register on the PACT shot timer on my belt throu...

Re: Thermal Defense Solutions suppressors
I had another conjugal visit with the Bantam II last month. This time I was accuracy testing and checking to see how much POI shift it had vs. unsuppressed. The answer is: not much. A little less than 1 MOA shift downward from my unsuppressed 12.3" barrel. Accuracy improved suppressed, but it's...

Re: Best suppressor for 6.5 creedmoor
What do you mean by "best"? Quietest? Lightest? Most rugged and can take sustained full auto? Smallest? Must have quick attach or ratchet lock? No backpressure? On a bolt gun or semi-auto? Without answering these, your question is like asking "what kind of car is best?" You can n...

Re: Thermal Defense Solutions suppressors
I received the Bantam II today, and I got a very quick conjugal visit after filling out the Form 4. Short version: it really is all that. I shot 5 shots of 55gr ammo out of a 12.5" barrel at a 10 yd berm from a covered shooting position with no ear protection, and was fine. No ear ringing or wi...
