45 ACP
I have been very successful with all of my suppressor designs except one. The 45 ACP. I've tried different tube sizes all the way up to 1.500, lengths to 7.500, a ton of different baffle configurations, static and progressive spacing. You name it and I've probably tried it. The only think I haven't ...

Super Precision Concepts
As of the first week in December, Super Precision Concepts will be up and running under new ownership. The brand, site, components, etc. will remain pretty much the same, and new items will be added, such as components from Griffin Armament, etc. Things may start a little slow, as porting an interne...

Re: Clipping gap size??
Always clip. for 9 mm use a 3/16" ball end mill .220 deep measured from the top of the cone rim. Correct bore is .414 if you are using precision equipment and .434 if using a drill press.

Re: Choosing a route for .300blk...
I've never seen that design before, let alone how to make one of my own lol. I'm assuming it's basically a ported stack with a "second" tube over top? These are not difficult to build and should give you that coveted Hollywood quiet you seek.I would add a gas tube with a shutoff valve to ...

2024-T3 is another option but it is expensive. I buy mine from TW metals. 1.375 od x .125 wall is in the neighborhood of $5 per inch if you buy a 12' length.

Re: combo machines 3 in 1 lathes and mills
You won't see manual combination machines in professional shops. There's a reason. IMO, they should be avoided entirely. The only things they excel at are wasting time and causing frustration. Some folks liken them to CNC millturns. They aren't remotely close. Agree with ECCO. Run Forrest run.

Offfering Mmachining Services
In what category or forum should I post that I am offering machining services? I am an 01/SOT/07 FFL License holder and new to this board. Also known on the Form 1 Suppressor board as hawkstand.

Re: Advice plz: 5.56 end cap hole size, engraving location
A Chinese, Aluminum, monocore is a horrible choice, horrible. Regardless of your first go'round, don't do it. Exit bore relies on design, but stay >.080in over caliber. You can engrave whatever you want. Some do endcap, some the mount, most do the tube. Placement on tube near midle or closer to mou...

What type of baffles and how are they clipped? Single or double clip?

Re: Form 1 questions
Low pressure configurations should be different from high pressure configurations both in type of baffle, length and baffle spacing. You would be much happier designing two suppressors, each dedicated to the host rifle.

Re: end cap strike, 9mm threaded can
Something is way off. I'm guessing it's an alignment problem. I would order a proper size alignment rod from McMaster-Carr and check that the suppressor is in line with the rifle bore.

I am an 01/SOT/07 license holder and can bore, clips and re-cores I can also heat treat 17-4 stainless to H900. A bore and single or double clip is $10 per baffle. If it's a bore and double hybrid clip its $15 per baffle. Heat treating is $5 per baffle. I have precision equipment. My lathe has a Bis...

A 1" can will suppress a 22lr well, but for .223 you need a 1'5" tube with stainless steel or titanium internals.

Re: How does it look (in progress)
If you have access to a milling machine and a rotary table you might want to consider the undercut as shown in the photo. Ignore the integrated muzzle brake as this build is for a 17 hornet/hmr. You can do the cut on the lathe but when I tried plunging this deep chatter always gave me a fit. I used ...

I have a trust which Was created when I purchased my first suppressor. Since that time I now have a Class 01 FFL. I am going to be applying for five (5) form 1's in order to build five new cans. My question is should I list the truss on the paperwork or use my FFL number?

Yeah, what they said ^^^ This is what I do because my lathe is ridiculously tiny. You shouldn't have to waste any material really. http://i.imgur.com/Gr9FNjU.jpg Not necessary to run the lathe backwards. Simply get or grind the lathe tool to the angle you want. Plunge in whatever cut depth of cut y...
