Re: Blowback Issue
I'm using a 10.7" .063 gas port barrel with an A5 RE and 6.8 ounce buffer. I also have the AR gas vent. It still blows a hell of a lot of smoke and the vent made the gun notably louder.

Ranger 2 back pressure.
Is it just me or does the Ranger 2 have more back pressure than other similar cans?

The AAC Ranger 3 looks perfect. The rear end will take a pin easily.
Of course they bring this out after I weld a Ranger 2 onto my rifle.

Re: Barrel specs/diagram
Ron, could you please email drawings for the 16th model collar to ryanscottborman at gmail.com? I emailed without response and I can't have ADCO do it this time because the rifle is a ground up build by a bolt gun guy. Thank you.

24" barrel with brake. Will it damage the can? Thanks.

Re: Rifle barrel length question
With 5.56 as an example, I don't notice a huge difference until you get into SBR territory- going from 20 to 16 isn't a big difference, but going from 16 to 11.5 is a noticeable change... But like yam said, a supersonic rifle is going to be loud no matter what, so the shorter length, better balance...

How significant is the difference between the M4-M and the 14th?

An OPS 14th would be cool. Maybe see if Ron will do one that screws to threads instead of a brake.

Re: potential buy on suppressors ( combat)
If I were concerned about getting the most durability on an M-4 under reasonable size and weight requirements, I'd get a 762SD-N and be done with it. All inconel baffle stack, fully welded, and a generous bore size, all within a reasonably sized unit. If I were especially neurotic, I'd use a muzzle...

Had a Ranger 2 welded to an 11" barrel. Range report.
I put 300 rounds through my Ranger 2 this weekend. It's welded to a 10.7" barrel. I'm pretty impressed--its louder than my Surefire FA556AR but I bet if the barrels were the same length they would be indistinguishable. While I can shoot it without ears I wouldnt call it hearing safe. The finish...

Re: DI myths
You want to base small arms procurement on a Gannett newspaper article and a video by a manufacturer of a competing product?
By the way don't get a hard on for the 416 yet. They are performing poorly in service and HK is working to correct the issues.

A couple in Pierce and Thurston will be in the can business soon. Rainier Arms is good to go as well.

Without question then the best course of action is to have Ken Elmore at SAW set up your 9mm. He has buffers weighted for that application.

No centerfire with a can is truly hearing safe but many are acceptable. In the industry hearing safe is used for anything under 140db.

This is why it's best to buy guns from people who know how to build guns. I think each manufacturer should recommend a buffer to go with various ammunition types for each upper they sell.

Can't be recored? I had a baffle strike and SF put a new stack in my tube. If it hadn't been covered by them I imagine it would have cost a lot though.
