Are ported cones mainly used in semi auto gas guns such as AR or AK's? Does porting offer any benefits if used on a bolt action?

I thought about 1.5" x .058 for outer tube and 1.375 x .035 for the inner 4130 CM. As many 50 or 60 degree cones as I can fit. Aluminum outer tube would be nice to drop some weight but I dont know how much difference it would make.

I am considering a coaxial build with a .513 bore. How much smaller should the inner tube be compared to the outer or how much space do you want between them? I would guess as much as possible, but I would rather have a experienced opinion.

I am wanting to know if there is a formula for figuring out 60 degree baffle length or do you just pick a number based on how many you want to fit in a given tube length? I have had no formal training in machining but have been at the hobby for a while.
