Its the weird sound the grendel makes, it does it on my 6ppc rifle a little but the Grendel is a screacher...my buddies call it the electrohawk sound. I tried a Sims vibration isolator on it, it didnt change I think its just the Grendel breaking the sound barrier.
Mystic X def..until the next big thing comes out, the 9mm market is going nuts now for some reason...its why i'm not buying one now. I'm sticking with my osprey 45 until I get stuff figured out.
First I am obligated to say: Huntertown Arms sucks... (Had to say it, their products and customer service make me) Sorry, I own a HTA product too and all I got was a can, no box, no paper, no manual, no tool to break it down like they said I would get at shot show. Hand tight is the best policy, I m...
I'm a big fan of Silencerco or at least the one Mike Pappas helped build as much as any other guy but on making my next buy decision, I cant help but wonder if the tech has changed enough to make me look elsewhere now that he has left? Guys like him are the reason why this industry is so helpful, I ...
Which is quieter, 300AAC with 16" barrel with Saker762 or same with Osprey45? buying a 16" and another can to loan other guys I'm guiding while hunting. My hearing is horrible so I have a hard time telling the difference. I own both, just not the 16" barrel yet.
I'm in Central Fl and I use a Grendel, with a Saker 762 and its a weird noise, sounds like a 747 touching down if it had metal wheels... I hunt in almost all of FL, from panama city down, mostly kissimmee and ocala though. Welcome, your retirement money goes a little further here and you now live in...
Those new caveats found in the NFA are making heads spin everywhere, the not a pistol, not a rifle firearm thing is killing tech branch from what I hear. It seems that if people keep bugging them with this crap, they are just going to start covering their butts and start making restrictions again. w...
I agree with the BCM, When our unit needed uppers for our Designated marksmen for caving, we went to BCM for the uppers, they turned out a bunch of uppers for us and not a single malfunction downrange. ours were 10.5" barrels and we ran them on M4A1 lowers from Colt, I'm sure it violated some k...
was thinking about picking one up but figured I'd get a PS90 and SBR it to take advantage of the cartridges shortness ability. Even looked at the MPA M11 with a kit to make it an SBR. I have carried the P90 on duty before (Just after 9/11) in CT role and loved it, does it pick up velocity in a longe...
Its a fixed thing now but for a while I was shooting me AR in 6.5 Grendel and it was showing pressure signs (Popped primers, swipes etc) and I couldnt figure it out. It was throwing rounds all over, 5" group at 100m I had built 3-400 of them in the past, some while working at a company that sel...
As a Desig Marksman in Afghanistan, I was very surprised by the 5.56 (77gr) one time when I was spotting for one of our shooters who was a Army and Marine Corps trained Sniper(Former Marine), he was having trouble with the Sr25 our team was just issued before the deployment (He was a holdover from p...
I was trying to design a cane gun and I was wondering if it was an AOW if it has to be taken apart to be fired? I was thinking about a cane handle that needs to be twisted and pulled apart to exposed the barrel to fire. I'm not against an AOW for it but it would be easier on me to build it as a pist...
I have used TAP's before on duty, they do an awesome job on ribs, they are nasty if you hit a human femur or any big bone, just viscous. Used them South of the border and the local LEO's thought we were using FMJ's until the wounds were seen. Our TAP rounds were staggered like tracers but instead it...
nice one, it baffles me that people say its not enough for deer even with modern bullets but say its enough for humans with a 200 year old bullet design (FMJ) I think a 223 with modern bullets are just as effective as 243 and 25's with old style bullets that barely expanded if at all. I hunted last ...
I have the same little can, that thing is pretty cool, they do an ok job for the size, the p22 I have is quieter than the 15-22 with it on both for some reason. The are supposed to be shot wet, not many know about them or that they are supposed to be shot wet only. was kinda bummed when I was told t...
I was told at SHOT a couple years back that the Saker's mount was the best and that they are going to use it for all of their new stuff but then the Omega came out and it uses the Specwar style mount, I already invested in the flash hiders and Brakes for the Saker because it is easier to take on and...
I can tell you that I have seen one of these in the Armory with a KAC can on it, I think they had a specific suppressor in mind when they made it. It was one of the weird QD adapter cans that they used on the M9 for a while. I think they ordered it to make use of those cans because KAC has pretty mu...
I carried a 9mm barrel in my 226 ON DUTY that was originally a 357 Sig issued when I was sent to DHS post 9/11. It worked well and was provided by Sig to our Armorers, I took it with me to Sig Classes and had it checked out numerous times by Sig. It was fine, never a trace of misfire or of any malfu...
I bought a Remington 1911 threaded Barrel for mine, Brownells had them on sale a while back, found out it was a storm Lake, I'm using it in my TRP Operator. Works great.
That Osprey mini is so beautiful, I dont care if it makes things louder I have to buy one, I have an Osprey 45 on a TRP Operator and I want to buy a 22, 1911 and the mini to have a set. They need to make a rifle version of it, I'd buy it, just not interested in the Shotgun version, I shot it and not...
