Re: Stainless suppressor with rolled ring to hold blast baff
Here we go, I still haven't tried this yet, large pipe cutters here are £30-50 approx second hand and I have little free time. Always good to see another Kiwi on-board. Was looking at a NZ Gunworx (sp?) yesterday, being used on a 6.8mm nice effective silencer, pleasant to listen to until the guy on ...

Re: why do you all waste,
I hadn't noticed Tyris had been banned!!! I know Robert threatened it a few times but did not realise he had followed it through, seems unfair because the guy had a different point of view from most. In fact Robert has been using the ban stick a few times recently and on that basis, pray God...

Re: Shooting through a row of tires = silencer?
Cool pic! If it was the barrel pic you were referring to steve, then more can be seen at the link below, the 500yd range is used regularly by three local clubs and is rented to other clubs from outwith the area to defray costs. Being a member of two of the local clubs I can shoot here on occasion u...

Re: Shooting through a row of tires = silencer?
on one of the ranges I regularly use due to noise complaints from newly built properties we quietened down the noise by shooting through blue polypropylene barrels lined with eggshell type foam. A short piece of wood 2"x"2 is bolted to the bottom of the drum to stop it rolling. They are li...

Re: decibel meter.... I phone app? is it any good/accurate?
Unless you work for Redjacket you will need at least 5 grand to have a meter that will capture the impulse of a gun shot. Will thinks 140db is hearing safe so what difference does there meter make? Actually it has been posted on other sites that at least in the UK, noise levels must be at or below ...

If I'm not armed I don't want to be interested but in reality £6k a month and low percentage chance of being shot at sounds not bad. I think you have something with ship to ship arms and personnel transfer Blaubart. I'd want bonus for shipping on a gas tanker though!!! Came across this guy in the UK...

I did not feel any sympathy for the victims, until now- http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-65981-2.html Honestly that just reads as your fucked up, doesn't matter that the victims were innocent, doesn't matter that firearms were planted, doesn't matter about the bereaved, doesn't matter ...

Re: 17 caliber can.
I re-read the above twice to ensure that the blast baffle was steel not alloy.
Good decision IMO, several people in the UK have reported erosion issues with HMR used through Sirocco SM11 alloy blast baffles, which in design looks very similar to your present build.

From the three I like 3 and 1, do you know if can 3 would have more available volume than can 1 after machining?

Re: Cone Baffles for 22
I would happily build with them, effectively you would end up with a Sirocco SM11 silencer which is popular in the UK. These work well with subsonics. Hard to gauge the thickness from the photos but due to cockups while machining (I rarely measure stuff) I have ended up with "very" thin al...

I think I'm catching up....opposing cones on either side of a divider......followed by the fins and making the gas switchback through all six chambers? The cones fit inside the enlarged bore tube right? near enough, :) No cone required on the outlet side of the divider, unless you felt you wanted o...

Re: 3d Solid model concept
Just get the gas away from the bullet as soon as you can, then, slow it down. And NEVER form a TUBE! +1 I like the design above except for the central tubes on the last four baffles, either cut them back to a third of the length ending mid chamber or loose them entirely replacing with a cone or con...

Re: Slightly different idea for a monocore....I think
It's fun to brainstorm and over think things and then if there is something in it, it can then be stripped back to the essentials. It might be the case that such a finned style has been looked at before and laid aside, either because it was ineffective or maybe because the builder did not have the m...

Re: M vs K vs monocore/swiss cheese
I have not tried crimping myself yet but it seems to offer solutions easier than boring the tube, I'm way too lazy for that. Increased volume, less weight, reduced or nil gas flow around the outer edge of the blast baffle. If the blast baffle had a reasonable length flange then several plug welds co...
