Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

EXCEPT for the few NYC carry permits that include, among a few elite, a NY TImes liberal, anti-gun editor.
Hmmmm! What would Sarah Brady and Code Puke, I mean Pink say?

FOI is a great thing to use.

Just a little info on NY and NFA
NY allows AOW and certain DD's.
NY has a several class 2's and under the old interpretation of the law they techically could not make cans, but they were doing so. Still scratching my head over that one.
It was written that Remington got the law changed so a Class 2 can make cans with no questions/gray area.
FYI Peace Officers under the penal code allows individual officers to own cans.
The definition of a Peace Officer under NY law is pretty broad.
So there is a market for cans albeat small.
NYC is pretty strict on any firearm, hell you need a permit to have just a rifle or shotgun. Outsside of NYC and a few counties surrounding NYC the rest of the state is pretty open and issues full carry permits easily, yeah no more new evil assault weapons can come in, only prebans and preban hi caps.
I know of two corrections officers (one now retired) who got to individually own MG's on their badge. They had to fight to get it as their department which was NYS Corrections pushed back but under the law it was legal at the time and they won out. The State Corrections closed that option to their corrections officers after that fight
I know of a couple of NYC police officers who own cans.
Yes, NYS sucks but what would you expect from a state that has Chuck the Schmuck Schumer, tax cheatin Rangel and the HOLE Carolyn McCarthy. Oh and let us not forget the Nazi like midget named Bloomberg.

An yes buying baffles as the OP was asking is a no go as it is anywhere but for class 2 selling to another class 2

CThomas, praises for " ... Chuck the Schmuck Schumer".

Your exact characterization created a Mad Comic drawing [ Never had that extra skill
to submit to them.] of Up-Chuck Schumer oozing out of a tube of Brylcreem.

That unctuous fraud who GLANS-hands everyone deserves a full JD investigation ... once we Dump The Chump
and his sphincter stopper Eric Holder and put an honest Attorney General in his place.

What kind of Vape juice should I use in a Suppressor while trying to boost my Instagram presence? Which end of the suppressor am I supposed to inhale from?

I suggest to the interlopers that mounting a go pro to the slide and using ammonium nitrate based juice while pulling the bald-win lever and sucking on the open muzzle end should propel you to another plain of existence and increase your presence online.
The only reason after 243 years the government now wants to disarm you is they intend to do something you would shoot them for!
