Custom recoil boosters, made to order

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Custom recoil boosters, made to order

Post by ECCO Machine »

For you form 1 guys without lathes and mills, it seems like ya'll are plagued by having very limited options with recoil boosters for pistol cans, so I'm gonna throw out an offer.

I can custom manufacture 17-4 stainless (or other materials, but that makes the most sense) recoil booster housings with rear caps and springs to fit inside your tube. I won't be your cheapest option, of course; I would need the tubes in hand to properly match threads, and we're talking 4-5 hours of machining time, so it'll be in the neighborhood of a couple hundred bucks plus shipping, but it's an option. I can make the pistons, too, but would suggest choosing an off-the-shelf option unless those won't work for your design.

I can make a booster housing for 1" pistons (SiCo and others) to fit a tube ID as small as 1.080", although most pistol tubes are 1.375" or 1.5" OD with at least 1.25" ID. I don't like to go thinner than .040" on the walls, but if someone really wanted it, I suppose I could.

This is the booster housing I make for my Phoenix suppressors, which spaces the blast baffle. I can't get the images to embed for some reason. Sorry.

Interesting. When I try, it tells me something about size cannot be verified.

I can understand internal hosting file size limits, but why on earth would this site not allow images of any file size to embed when they are hosted elsewhere? That's just dumb.

Probably a bandwidth management issue.

If there is no limit on the size of images that can be embedded then an image heavy thread could be horrendously slow for people with slower speed connections. It seems archaic in this day and age when most people have multi-megabit connections but the software on this site hasn't been updated in a long time and even then some 'protections' are left in place for a long time in the software.

Hi. I’m interested in having a booster made. Are you still doing this?
