Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Hello everybody. As you know I have recently been experimenting with shotguns. However, I am intrigued as to how I may suppress a single shot, 12 gauge shotgun. Therefore, I would like to ask for your help and input.
Namely:
1) Is it better to do an integral or a screw-on suppressor?
2) How long should the barrel be, at minimum, before the suppressor?
3) What kind of baffles are most suitable?
4) Does the suppressor require a ported barrel extension to run its full length, because of pellet dispersion?
5) Can anyone provide pictures or schematics of previous designs?
Thank you very much,
LavaRed
Personally I would slot the barrel instead of punching holes on it,
Would make deburring no fun but would be quicker
I'll drop LavaRed a call, I don't think it was ever built.
ps: slotting a barrel will create four fracture point per slot.....Hi...T.....
