I'll comment as a person who was there and shot the picture that camera angle gives things a unique perspective, and its often one that is different than reality.
No need to defend anything, but its good to see you over here.

I've done work photography work with 45 or so manufacturers within the firearm community, my images have been used for catalogs, magazines, covers, etc. I have also shot work for the US Military. I am prior service and a full time LEO.
I now also shoot and write for Military Times. My primary focus will stay with weapons, accessories and related equipment reviews. Manufacturers can reach me through any of the boards. Have something new? Let me know.

The latest pics of my LWRCI M6A3 with B.A.D., Armadynamics ambidextrous charging handle, Aimpoint T-1, Surefire G2L with tape switch/button tailcap & blue flip-up lens with funky yellow mirrored surface finish and BFG VCAS with polymer buckle instead of aluminum to prevent impact damage to the T-1:
Enjoy!

Thanks! I like the contrast too. I'm not sure if I'll paint the upper as a result. No problem with the bipod except the left one locks up with a bit of rotational play in it. The new light lens cover solves this as the old one (I had it fold to that side as it was spring loaded and didn't fold all the way back like this one does, blocking the view unless it went to the side) interfered with the folded bipod leg. Since this one folds flat against the light, I have it fold upwards.

JohnnyC,
No offense taken. Good question, actually. This is my one and only AR that I've been building for over a year:
http://forum.lwrci.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2477
and I originally was going to put an ACOG on it. I still will eventually, but decided to get the T-1 for now and already had the bipod. I like having the bipod because I don't have to mess with sandbags and it stands up nicely when on the shooting table (or in the back of my pickup) whether I'm shouldering it or not. I have everything set up so I can quickly detach gear and weight as needed. I used to have a Harris bipod on my previous 20" AR with ACOG (I had to sell it about 4 years ago) and just got used to having one. I like the looks and function of the VLTOR unit, so on it went.
Thanks!

Finally MAGPULified my .22 converted AR15. So light - so fun. Hey, so... where are the .22 PMAGs?
And after looking, searching, and wanting a 20rnd PMAG I finally went to your site and ordered it - 4 days later, it was here!

Lucky AFG giveaway winner!
Works great both without the bipod in reactive shooting, as well as in the prone w/ bipod.
