I just received my HVT last Wednesday.
Here's a photo of my new-to-me HVT.
the rifle is a Remington 700 LTR and a Leupold MK IV scope with badger rings and bases.

POI shifted 2.5" low and 5" right with the HVT installed.

Your son looks good man. Keep taking your son shooting…. if we don't pass on a culture of responsible gun ownership the 2A is doomed. I imagine you already thought of it…I bet he has friends that would love to go along. I suspect you will find that their parents will likely be supportive and giving permission for them to go along to the range. Unfortunately if responsible gun owners don’t make it a point to expand our culture… many parents won’t take the initiative FIRST. We are the first step.
