Silencertalk AR Picture Thread

Post by rob_s »

ETA: Let's establish a couple of guidelines here.
1) Keep the pictures to 1024 pixels wide so as not totally throw off the formatting. Pictures wider will be converted to links starting 11/1/09 without warning.
2) When quoting a post with a picture in it, convert the "img" to "url" so that it shows up as a link and not a picture for the same reason above. and like #1, posts will be edited to make the conversion beginning 11/1/09.

Lots of sites do this, and they are usually pretty interesting and a good way for people to share ideas and information. It will remain a sticky.

A few of mine.

Rob that first 9mm of yours is screaming for a SBR tax stamp.
Going a little more discrete here due to some of my opinions...

I've done work photography work with 45 or so manufacturers within the firearm community, my images have been used for catalogs, magazines, covers, etc. I have also shot work for the US Military. I am prior service and a full time LEO.

I now also shoot and write for Military Times. My primary focus will stay with weapons, accessories and related equipment reviews. Manufacturers can reach me through any of the boards. Have something new? Let me know.

Well that last one is my buddy. I am the one with the red head :D

We need to chat about a couple of your guns.......

Very cool. I have a ton of GG mags for my USC M3 conversion. I have thought about doing an AR like this either suppressed or not. I keep seeing bits and pieces about these lowers but have not figured out the best/easiest way to do it yet. Admitly I have not looked that hard yet either.
How did you go about getting this lower and about what did it cost?
Did you do the "paint" or did you have it done?
Anything you really do or dont like about it?
I know you dont have the suppressed upper done for it yet but wondering if it is worth it. I have been thinking about doing my USC but there is no "good" way to suppress it without SBR (not legal in WA).
I am looking at using that stock on my 300 Whisper build, what do you think of it?

One of my other sooner then later projects is a .22 AR. I have been thinking about doing an "M4" version since I dont have a M4 style now so I could cover two things with one gun (M4 look for collection and .22). What can you say about good, bad, other about .22 set ups?
I know there are getting to be more and more out there. Can I build one (I have done others and have tools) or are you better off just buying a complete one?
What kind of issues do these have?
