I have had an LCP for a while and never carried it. Why? Because I like carrying pistols that have a full grip. The pistols I carry most often are the Glock 19 and HK P7. I have never been a fan of the G26 because I just don't like small pistols.
That being said, I have been running unarmed because, well, a Glock 19 is 2 lbs - and it bounces in a fanny pack, and it abrades my skin in an IWB. I tried a chest pack and it is not terrible, but I only ran with it 2-3 times and then never bothered. My area is just too safe to strap on all of that stuff.
So then I got a NANO - but it is 23 oz loaded - and so it still will move around a lot. So while there are 9mm that are physically small, none are really light like the LCP. A loaded LCP is just 12 oz - lighter, thinner, much easier to shoot well, and smaller than my Airweight 38.
A LaserMax is arriving tomorrow.
I have seen mixed test results. In some of them, some expanding rounds make 12 inches, but then in others, they do not. It seems like if you want 12+ inches of penetration all of the time, you need FMJ. DPX looks interesting if you are ok with 8-11 inches of penetration.

Just got this clip - very useful it seems. I should be able to run with this when I don't want to wear a belt and a real holster.
LCP - I like it.

I'm not really into sub-9mm for carry, but after trying various methods I think this is the only un-annoying option for running.

Re: LCP - I like it.
I am anti-small gun more than I am anti sub-9mm. I like full size grips because, well, small grips are like a computer with a miniature keyboard. The user interface matters a lot.
That being said, how often do I leave my G19 or P7 at home and carry nothing because my town is so safe that it does not seem worth the effort to strap on the Glock? Quiet often.
So if I can clip this on rather than do nothing, that is (much) better than nothing. And I don't mean instead of the Glock, but rather just in cases where I would have left it at home.

The clip http://www.keltecweapons.com/product/be ... 2-or-p-3at
I have the KelTec version and I like it for pocket carry.
I would like to formally submit a petition for a new model, the butt on the one in the picture is a little flat.

Re: LCP - I like it.
looks like a tempting option, especially with that deep carry clip.
BTW, nice preon, I have the titanium preon1 version but with the clicky cap. Great compact/light EDC flashlight.silencertalk wrote:

Yikes, the KT clip is $11.15 from the KT site and would probably fit.
I would still like to see a better butt in those pictures, can't you find a model around the office?

Re: LCP - I like it.
Had one when 380 was nowhere to be found. Bought a PF-9 instead. Only a few more ounces, better ammo choices and availability. The ruger version, LC-9 seems quite a bit bigger and heavier.

Re: LCP - I like it.
I would like a PF-9. I will work to get one. And a P-32 for that matter.
The Kel-Tec clip - people say it bends. Maybe the one I got does not bend. Agreed $26 is pretty expensive, but it does have a precision pin and someone had to tool up to make these things. I would buy it again.

Re: LCP - I like it.
Have the PF9 as well, very handy and concealable. Sacrificed the belt clip on the PF9 for a side mounted laserlyte. Have never really been a fan of lasers in the past but aging eyes can change your opinion.

Re: LCP - I like it.
This is a what I could do with Golden Saber at 50 feet offhand (50 feet is way farther than I would expect to shoot in real life). The black circle is 5 inches. I also tried about 30 shots with an NAA mini revolver in 22 and got *zero* hits on paper. None.
My plan is to always carry the LCP (when legal - not on airplanes and such), and then when I want to carry a gun, add on the P7.

Re: LCP - I like it.
That is much better than me.
As for lights - I have the Preon single and dual cell version. I prefer the dual cell as being longer does not make it any harder to have in your pocket and you get some extra brightness, and if you don't use the clip, it is long enough to not turn sideways in your pocket.
But I think this is my current favorite flashlight:
http://www.amazon.com/4Sevens-Fourseven ... cr_pr_pb_t
I think you can put a 17670 battery in it - I have some on order to find out.
I also have a Fenix P-32 Ultimate, but it is a bunch larger and even though it has more lumens, it is a much wider beam, so actually less intense and less projection at long range. That is good when you want a wide beam, but too bad it is less intense. That is due to the large LED emitter.
Also, while the P-32 push button is nice to change brightness - you can only do it when the light is on - which makes it less than perfect. With the Quark, I can keep it on max brightness - ready to blind someone, but I can also rotate the bezel *before* turning it on and make it be in moonlight mode. The downside to that is you only have a choice of two brightnesses (but you can program them from about 5). All in all, I would say the Quark interface is better for me, as two brightnesses is enough and the ability to change them with the light off is very important to me.

Re: LCP - I like it.
I've been carrying the LCP for a couple years now and have made a few mods to mine. First, I polished all moving parts and the feed ramp with Flitz to smooth things up a bit. Since I have pretty big hands, I added a grip extension from Pierce Grips, which is a bit longer than the Ruger supplied extension. My neighbor has the Pachmayr palm swell that he swears by but I don't care for it much since it seems to snag a little in my DeSantis IWB holster. I read plenty about how underpowered the 380 is but it is so concealable, I don't have to dress for it and its better than not carrying anything. Since I'm down south where tshirt and shorts are pretty much year 'round attire, the LCP really fits the bill so to speak. If your wife/girlfriend want to carry, check out the Flashbang bra holster from Looper Law enforcement. My wife wife carries her LCP in a Flashbang and loves it. She's as fast drawing and putting rounds on target as I am from my IWB holster.
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
