Rossi 92 in .357 magnum. Chopped to 16" and threaded 13.5x1LH with 9mm Osprey. Only 38 specials through the suppressor though. It is QUIET with 158 grain ammo

Ok, I'm settling back down now. Initially, your blacked out serial number looked like a jagged hole blown in the side of the can!

I just got my upper back from our fellow forum member redtazdog. He put together a dedicated 22lr upper for me using one of his 4.5 inch barrels with Sparrow threads. My SS Sparrow fit perfectly into the Troy Alpha Rail and protrudes by about 1 inch. Here's a few photos for you guys. And BTW, if you're ever in the market for a custom threaded 22lr AR15 barrel I cant recommend redtazdog enough. He does amazing work.

Love the stock! Dont forget to post pics when its all together. And yes, Redtazdog does great work. I highly recommend him as do many others.

The lower Im currently using is from my factory YHM 5.5 inch 9mm SBR (less the Hahn magblock when the 22lr upper is installed). Im going to send in a set of forms sometime soon for another SBR lower to be used for this 22lr upper and a Mk18 upper.

It's a Nordic Components retractable. They are a little pricey but it is a solid piece. The only problem with it is that it will kind of interfere with the dust cover is full retracted. It doesn't impede operation or anything, it just keeps it from opening all the way. Once I get my SS Sparrow I am dubbing this the poor mans honey badger.

Mind if I ask a few questions? That looks like the original Contender frame, correct? Where did you choose to engrave it? Is the rifle stock original or aftermarket?

I have a contender pistol and I've been thinking of turning it into an SBR, and it looks like you've done exactly what I'm planning on doing! The first issue I'm faced with is where to get a rifle stock!

Any other words of sage advice for SBRing an original Contender?

Yes, thats a 90's vintage Contender, way before the G2's.

I intended to have the engraving done on the bottom flats on either side of the trigger assembly. The local engraver couldn't manage that, and I was too impatient to find someone else. It's engraved on the left side of the reciever along the bottom edge, on either side of the trigger pin.

The stock is a factory youth model -- I'd like to find another one to cut down even further for my kids. Stocks are available but I haven't found any real cheap. Last time I checked, there were a few on ebay, just make sure you're not getting the G2 version. Another option is Ed's TC. I don't think he keeps his website up to date, so you'd have to call to see what he has.
