NRA turncoats, former #2 at NRA now for gun control

Josh Powell was former Chief of Staff and key advisor to Wayne LaPierre for 3 years, having been fired in January 2020 for financial misspending among other problems. Now he is coming out with a tell-all book where Powell is for universal background checks, Red Flag laws and other gun control initiatives. We members wonder how the NRA can take certain positions, and with very highly paid people like Josh Powell holding anti-gun views while running the NRA, more details are coming to light.

Like Wayne Lapierre accused of over the top lavish spending, Josh Powell did the same. He was accused in a preliminary investigation of spending over $58,000 in just 2019 for personal expenses and lavish travel for his family--it may be just the tip of the spear.

I am a long-time NRA member and supporter--still am--but top employees at the NRA have been running it into the ground and looting the organization openly. A complete house-cleaning of the NRA is warranted. IMHO (it goes beyond just Wayne LaPierre). It's reported that the NRA is now spending over 1/3rd of its income on legal costs related to fighting lawsuits. If the NRA were well-run, that money would be going to support the election of pro-gun candidates and vigorous lobbying for pro-gun laws.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.
