Just ordered an Obsidian 9

Super pumped about it. No worries comes the long wait

This is my first can, is there any advice you can give me?

Also are there any db stats available yet?

I believe most people were happy enough with the performance of the Obsidian 45 on 9mm that they didn't see the point in the Obsidian 9.

The Obsidian 45, by all reports, is a quality doodad with good reviews and excellent performance. I'm sure the 9 will perform well also but I don't know anybody who owns one.

I think it's a good can.

Sounds good.

Not real heavy.

I think you'll be happy with it.
I don't care what your chart says

Keep your eyes open for deals on any pistons and/or fixed spacers you may need, during the wait
Times seem to have really dropped; the wait really shouldn't be all that long.

I purchased an Obsidian 9 a few months ago too. ATF cashed my check on March 24. Also did a form 1 to SBR a QC10 AR9 so I definitely need a fixed spacer. Let me know if you see a deal anywhere. I'm a machinist so I could make one if I knew the spcs. ;)

SilencerShop shows the Rugged fixed barrel spacer for the Obsidianin in stock. Not cheap but there is one available.

Ratings based on db numbers shouldn't be given a lot of weight in comparing cans. There are just to many other factors that come into play. Barrel length, bullet weight/powder, quality and position of the db meter. Many more. Also most people don't spend the 2k+ needed for a quality meter.

I have one and its hearing safe with federal aluminum ammo at a indoor range. Put in some hush and its super quite. I am quite happy!! I didn't get the 45 because I don't want to get all those guns suppressor barrels and end up spending more accessories then I did the can. lol

It came in to the dealer a week ago. Unfortunately, I am working 6 days a week for the next two weeks, and the dealer is not open Sunday. So I will have wait another 3 weeks before I can pick it up.

I do what I have to for my family. Afterwards if there is time, I do what I want to. Another 3 weeks will not kill me, I have waited this long.

I have own and its quit indoors with range ammo but its cooler with the hush ammo. I did have an issue with the tri-lug adaptor and rugged took care of me. It was my first can and I'm still waiting to take it home.

Been gathering information on my first project for a month now. Found this website a few weeks ago. Finally ordered my copy of the book from Amazon. Can't wait to get it.
