"..haven't cleaned my gun in long time"

Post by Historian »

Over the years there are some folks who show their arms and cans
and off handedly state that they do not dutifully clean their arms
after a day of shooting. Being on the antipodal end of the scale
all weapons and accessories are religiously cleaned, inspected,
oiled, put away on sheepskin cases, etc. OCD?

Has the reliability of present day arms and cans become 'Kalashnikov-ed' in that
you can run over them with a tank in dirt and they still fire?

In prehistoric times arms had real wood stocks.

Receivers did not develop cracks ...e.g., 120 year old C96 still solid for yearly firing.

M1A1 carbine still fires flawlessly (note bene ... drip some CLIP down barrel every so often
to lube piston )

1936 FN Hi Power and WW2 1911A1 are 'forged in fire solid'.

Original Walther PPKs same.

Etc., etc., etc.

Really, is it now passé to not care?

fully functioning, cleaned, maintained weapon."

And with its accompanying shoulder stock it is
a joy to shoot.

Once saw photo of one with a suppressor on it
but cannot recall where. If anyone has a photo
of one please post.

Best.
