Requirement:find a long -side-mount for .22 Reising/H&R M65 WW2 Training Rifle*
to mount the new generation 30mm scope ... context .22 NLR prep.
Standard spacing between holes. Current side mount and rings fits 12" scope with
6.5" barrel.

M65 purchased in 1963 from former WW2 Marine
who also had the H&R M65 'Rat_Rifle', which he did not want to sell. It was threaded for
a can that he used in Pacific.*

The M65's accuracy matches any present day competition .22 --- from
off hand to bench resting to bi-pod. As heavy as issue rifle.

Replacing it would be, for example, the VUDOO precision .22 NLR
rifles at over $2,400.00. Too old, too cheap!
Rather put money into the best present day 50MOA competition scope for it.

The H&R M65's history is most intriguing: to prepare Marines for firing the Reising .45 machine gun**
built exactly on same parts ... Reising's genius ... with just a scaled down .22 barrel'

Over the intervening years I have shot it with the original issue Redfield 70 AT 21 target sight for H&R M65
Confession: I obtained over the years 2 spare 70 AT 21 sights and a competition Lyman Sight for it... 'in case the sight broke' OCD at its worse.

A few years ago I got a Weaver Side-1" THL to mount a 1" target scope. What an eye saver.
