TBA Sicario v. Russian APB Design

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

TBA Sicario v. Russian APB Design

Post by Historian »

Recently saw a .22 TBA Sicario MKIV Silenced Pistol* in action.

Immediately intrigued by the well designed package.
Elegant visual profile with an efficient suppressor combination.
And surprised by how its sound level was comparable to current cans.

First time a new system is being considered.
Metal junkies here with 'Testosterone-poisoning' can relate to
this. :)

In addition to choice of material ranges from SS to titanium a
particularly attractive adapter that is available to it is a /2" x 28 adapter that allows the integral suppressor
to be moved on any other .22 pistol with ½" x 28 thread, like the stellar S&W 41. Two for
price of one.

Noticed that the design of the 'primitive' slanted disk baffles with bleeder holes
looked like a clone of the venerable Stetchkin Russian APB Silenced Machine Pistol
suppressor design**. Simple, 'Kalashnikov-practical', and efficient. Surprisingly quiet.

Imitation is the sincerest embodiment of the KISS engineering principle.
