I have a Wise Lite Sterling Type II carbine and I'm having an awful time finding options to add barrel threads. There's only about .120" of barrel protruding past the barrel nut. So, what are my best options? Internally threaded barrel extension? Barrel nut mount? Something else entirely?
I've sent out a few emails to shops, but so far the only reply was "not interested, but thanks." I'm at a loss of where to go from here...

A few pictures of what you have helps.

Here's a stock photo of the same carbine. I'll try to take some decent, detailed pics of my own.

A 9mm requires 1/2x28 threading. You must have over .500" barrel diameter so a shoulder can be cut for suppressor alignment.
If the barrel is 1/2 inch or under, a external extension could be used. The carbines muzzle cap would be opened up to fit over this extension.
If the barrel is over .500'' a short end cap would allow the barrel to be threaded.
Last would be a threaded end cap or QC mount.
How thick is the barrel and show/tell how the barrel end cap fits to the shroud or barrel. Can you remove the barrel from the receiver.

Or an integral setup, though more expensive, would be ultra cool on that carbine.

From a craftsmen point of view the labor and cost is basically the same. The performance would be better with a integral and having two stamp would be best.

Integral would be awesome! Unfortunately, the barrel is supported by front and rear trunnions: an integral suppressor would require a major overhaul.Capt. Tearing it down for cleaning, I finally took some pics. Now, if I can just figure out how to post them here...

Well, after struggling with this for half an hour, I've determined that I'm hopeless and my knowledge is out of date.
Here are links to the photos. I'll keep trying to figure out how to post them in a fashion that this platform will accept.

SUCCESS!!! What an ordeal! Okay, here they are...
Btw, that last pic is the front end of the barrel; otherwise, it's a straight cylinder.

Re: Sterling Type II Barrel Threading
I'm not totally clear on how the barrel is fixed to the receiver but I see the difficulty now in adding a suppressor.
The least involved way it to turn and thread the muzzle forward of the alignment lug on the barrel then silver solder a .500x28tpi extension to it. You may need to open the muzzle nut to clear the adapter.
The extension should ideally be finish machined in place with a shoulder for the suppressor to snug against. Once blued it should look factory.
I'm guessing but dose the barrel lug keep the barrel timed to the shroud ?
I would love to build a integral on that just to get rid of complicated muzzle lug and nut arrangement.
This is not a major job but would suggest a skilled man.

Yep, the barrel lug sits in the notch of the front trunnion. The rear trunnion is a cylinder with a .760 hole through it. The barrel itself is a straight profile, except for the lug. The barrel floats between front and rear trunnions and the barrel nut holds the lug in place.Capt. Something similar to an Uzi barrel nut mount would be simple enough, but only if it's concentric to the bore. From what I can estimate with calipers, the barrel nut appears to be concentric to within .005 of the bore, but I don't know if that's enough clearance for my can (Rex Silentium MG7K, still in NFA lock up).

Re: Sterling Type II Barrel Threading
I think you will be happy with the extension. You may wish to add a thread protector as a final touch. Drop me a line on your progress.
