General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Mask HD Lesson On Cleaning

Interesting video on disassembling HD when gummed up, This is
after may bricks through it without cleaning. He used a padded hammer.
Old machine shop adage "Don't Force ... Use larger hammer".

On another site a claim was made not to clean pistol barrel often as " ...
it shoots better" --what ever that means.
Guess gumming up grooves
in barrel and turning it into a smooth bore musket counters the
Germans bringing rifling to US frontier so long ago. :)

It again reenforces the past good advice from the Good Captain on using Permatex
Anti-Seize on threads. Sure has kept 1970 Mercedes 280SL engine plug holes
perfect with no galling.

How many use anti-seize on can threads ... and in HD case where
joints couple.
