I'm new to this process, I got approved 5/18 (verbally confirmed over phone w/ NFA branch)

Am I now waiting on a call from my dealer? Or am I waiting on a stamp in the mail....

NFA will send your approved Form 4 to your dealer. When he gets it, you will be called and that's it. Congrats on your approval. Picked up my can last night

I guess I should note that I sent off on 4/28, i was approved on 5/18

25-35 but who's to say it wont be shorter,mine was not a trust and it took 5 days.

Thanks for the times guys, this thread is exactly what I came to this site for! FFL said last one he did was 3 months, but he'd heard the time had been shorter lately, so it's good to know maybe I won't have to wait the whole summer to get my blackside!

What does pending mean??

pending means if your legal to have one it will be anywhere from 12 to 28 days till approval,it's purgatory really,its whan they start to review your paperwork and have not given the final nod yet.

By the way, since we have NCIC (National Crime Information Computer), why can't we have instant background checks on Class 3 and Class 2?

Just called the ATF and they sent the form 4 back to the dealer because in North Carolina apparently you have to have "research and development" for reason of ownership. I find it strange that between this dealer and another that I have used since then that niether had heard this before. So the 3 year journey of this suppressor continues...

Anyone else heard of this?

If it was a problem in NC then it seems like the LEO would have told you that when signing off on the form. Do you have to re do the paperwork or can you just scratch it out and initial it?

The LEO didn't really know what he was looking at. He pretty much just signed it because he knows my pretty wife and probably wanted a vote (or just a smile). The ATF agent (Sandra something, I have it written down in my car) said I could just line it out and write that in there. She also said she included a direct address to her.

Damn this wait is killing me, now I have to start all over.
