Looking for Opinions on the best 5.7/22mag suppressor

Post by tal35 »

I am looking to buy a can for 5.7 and 22 mag use mainly, open to any brand really for suppression level being the main factor and then weight / clean-ability being second.

Unfortunately not a lot of comparison testing out there using these two rounds that I've ever seen. I'll be interested to hear other's thoughts. My first thought is maybe a SilencerCo Spectre II, but that's mainly from a build/ruggedness perspective.
Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Spectre II, Mask HD and Sparrow would be the choices I'd look at

I will be posting photos of our 22 and 5.7 suppressors tomorrow.

What platform? If it is a rifle situation, that changes things a bit. I don't know of any 223 take-apart cans, which you may ultimately want if you're also shooting rimfire.

Thoughts on the Bowers USS can as far as suppression?? How does it compare to the silencerco models etc? It looks like a nice can.
It would be used on an SBR PS90, and possibly S&W 422, Buckmark etc.

The USS is a very nice can. I like it a little better than the Spectre 2

Our Mostro suppressor is a serviceable 5.56 can, but our Bambino rimfire can is plenty strong with a 17-4 baffle stack to handle 5.7 and 22mag.

XCaliber Genesis Titanium.
Small, user serviceable and no bigger than a .22 can.

I went with Gemtech for my latest 5.7x28 suppressor. It functioned perfectly for me so far.

I have a Spectre II for my Masterpiece Arms "defender" 5.7x28. Supersonic crack is louder than muzzle report, which means the degree of suppression is as good as it needs to be.

What host? if you don't mind me asking.

I've always wanted a ps90 but the ammo cost has always made it unjustifiable.

Why not form1?
B cell tube from sd tactical and their caps with their booster or a booster from liberty which is stainless vs aluminum(and their fixed spacer mount for rifles).
You can get spacers and cones from totality industries or from rusty at form1 suppressors if he offers them now. I’d go all stainless. Say 7 cones at .625x6 spacers and 1 .75
145 for tube caps and spacer
90 or 150 for booster
16(7)(maybe x.9-8 depending on if there’s a sale and quantity ordered for other stuff) and 4.16(5) and 4.75(1) and again that sale price may apply.
Like 372 for one, very good price for h900 baffles and a titanium tube and grade 5 ti caps and a booster, 60 more if you want the stainless steel liberty booster which I believe has a promotion for get a free .578 booster position.
And that fixed spacer means rifles as well.
Sure, more weight but only like 12-14 ounces with a greater lifespan and cheaper price and you can get more mounts cheaply and maybe even limited 556 use on long barrels or even 16 inch barrels.
Very good deal if you ask me.

A 22 can will work on a fn57 without a booster(I think) however you can make this a 9mm can and have a multi purpose can and still be quiet with 5.7, maybe to to 1.255 instead of 1.145(more expensive though).
Also with a loophole you can have an end cap in 22 and 357. Use a 1/2x28 mount as an end cap and the actual end cap in 22. No law on how much the baffles need to be bored and the 1/2x28 cap has other uses other than being an end cap which is its legal.

This is from my own research, you should do your own as well and not trust me at my word.

True.

Just making the observation in case the previous updater was waiting on a reply from the OP. :)

Ha!! The old master brings up a good point! He PM'd me once and told me "Dude, the people your are talking to are dead"!!! I was responding to a many years old post... I guess when someone replies to an old post it bumps it up - gotta look at the posting dates!! :)
