How much trailboss fits in a 308

Be careful -- low-volume ratio loads can detonate. Mangement not responsible for load data. Use at your own risk.

I can check when I get home, but I think I'm around 10.4gr of Trailboss w/ a 180RN. Light crimp. Report w/o a suppressor, through a 20" bbl, isn't too bad.

Double-checked, it's 10.0gr Trailboss for 180g RN Sierra 2170's

If you want to know how much powder fits in a case, go here and get case capacity. Then, divide that number by 15.43236 (grains in a gram or = cc). Then, go here and get the VMD for your powder. Divide this # into your last number. This will be the grains of powder that fit in your case.

308Win Case Capacity = 56gr
56/15.43236 = 3.62873857271
3.62873857271/0.2172 (Trailboss VMD) = 16.7gr to case mouth

You can also take your bullet length, add it to your case length, subtract your COAL and use this with Pi*r^2 (d=bullet dia) to subtract the portion of bullet seated in case from your original case capacity.

That is solely up to you and your rifle.
I'd start with a small jump, maybe .010" and work up some loads, for velocity.
Once you have your desired load, go back and play with seating depth.
I'd shoot these over the chrono as well to make sure you're staying w/in SS velocity ranges.

The load I shared is using Jacketed projectiles.
Lead bullets typically require LESS powder than jacketed.

Have a cleaning rod handy and always verify a clear bore, in the event of a squib (stuck) round.

W/o opening QuickLoad, I couldn't really say. When developing my own loads, I never went too far above subsonic. When working for subsonic, it's a reverse of normal loading. You start higher so as not to get bullets stuck in the bore and work down.

Mag primers really don't give that much of a velocity increase, especially w/ small loads. They're more for making sure the large powder charges, found in magnum cases, are reliably lit.

Depending on your goal velocity, you might want to try a few powders. Trailboss was really developed for slower rounds and might not get you where you want. H110, 4227 , W296, A1680, N120, are all good places to look.

No crimp required if your neck tension is proper. TB max loads (for modern cartridges like 308Win) is case filled to the bottom of your bullet. Report will be relatively mild as this will still be a low pressure (and low velocity) load compared to standard 308Win loads.
