Obey Turning In Your Firearms If Ordered

Post by Historian »

Recent talk on some sites triggered by article:

"..Between October 1996 and September 1997, Australia responded to its own gun violence problem
with a solution that was both straightforward and severe:
It collected roughly 650,000 privately held guns.
It was one of the largest mandatory gun buyback programs in recent history.
And it worked. That does not mean that something even remotely similar
would work in the US — they are, needless to say, a different country —
but it is worth at least looking at their experience."

Really!

Reuters article:
"Melbourne Police Violence on marchers:
Melbourne descends into chaos as police arrest 62 and fire rubber pellets
at anti-lockdown protesters
"

Another example: Canadian law recognizes three basic types of guns:
non-restricted, restricted and prohibited.
Firearms become more difficult to possess as the government's assessment
of their danger increases. ... Without a license issued by the
Royal Canadian Mounted Police, you can't legally possess or purchase a firearm in Canada."

An interesting question was raised. If a poll were taken by US gun owners
how many legal citizens would submit to a mandate to turn in all their
arms ... as was done in obeying masking, lockdowns, and being punished
for self-defense. Should US citizens be as compliant as the Brit
'colonials' are?

Sample poll question if one were taken.

Question 1: "Would You, a law abiding citizen, dutifully obey
and turn In Your Firearms if politicians (e.g., a la Fauci)
ordered you to as was done in Australia, Canada,
and other civilized countries, knowing that
urban criminals would not obey and be exempt from
penalties?"

Question 2: "Have you thought of your personal choices?)[/b]

An first insignificant straw poll showed some insightul statistics.

Fun to see if such polls were taken.

Glad to have lived through WW2 era to now which has given
a special perspective.

Best.

Unless they do weekly thorough searches, people like myself with basic shop tools will make the own, unlicensed guns and ammo too. Might not be a John Moses Browning full auto, but then again it might, but it would work. Build my own suppressor too. Prisoners make primitive guns now with much less.

+1

Imitating Claude Rains in Casablanca "...I am shocked, shocked, that prisoners
make weapons and guns in prison. Put them behind bars." :)

Can you imagine searches for illegal weapons starting in
the inner cities such as Chicago or Philadelphia. Many would
sign up for Pay-Per-View to see this series.

There are suburbs in France where the police will not enter,
and the inhabitants have among their collection AK-47s.

Americans are a decent, honorable, law abiding, tolerant people with
a temperament that will tolerate many infringements until it hits
critical mass. That is why the brilliant founders of our Country
set in our Constitution the 2ND Amendment. Socialism and communism
are a cancer than cannot be negotiated with, worked with, nor tolerated.

Obama's buddy Van Jones honestly expressed it on mike
when he said in effect that America's economy had to be collapsed so
that communism can be built up from its ashes.

In 1942 a young child in Southie heard a resounding reply to Tojo's sneak attack
to the effect " you have awoken a sleeping giant you little ..."

In 2022 he now hopes to see in these coming elections that
an awoken citizenry will be sending a deafening message
to DemoNrats that their careers have been immediately terminated.

Our generation's Battle of Midway.

Side note: when the USS Missouri 1946, docked in South Boston
the thrill of the little kid standing on the spot/medallion where the Japanese
surrender was signed still remains. American will push present day
socialism and communism unhesitatingly onto the pyre of history's evils.

Hey, Dick, wake up Odin and beseech him to start sending down his lightening bolts
to inspire courage and lead to success.
