Re: Crosman Announces Availability Of Nitro Piston 2
Nitro filled pistons have been around for a while. Is Crosman just making them cheaper like they did with the PCP?
Not knocking the job they did with the Discovery and Marauder, both are good guns for the money.

Re: Crosman Announces Availability Of Nitro Piston 2
If you visit http://www.crosman.com/np2 they have photo's of the workings, you can see the tail guides and recoil arrester.
Following pages show the new trigger and "can," k baffles with the "mouse hole" running the length of the barrel.
What they are not telling is that to obtain the advertised velocity you have to use the new fangled zinc or aluminum pellets, whatever they are made of, use lead pellets and I'm pretty sure the velocity will return to a "normal" velocity.
Crosman also claims an "up to 10 lb. reduction" in cocking force, msrp is $350, camo $380.
While I've never tried one of these gas pistons I like the idea, no pcp limiting you to around 40 shots or touchy spring piston that can be damaged by over lubing, etc.

Si, something like 3gr or 5gr ... not much more than a spitball.Hush wrote:...

It is the standard airgun marketing deception. Like advertising a stock Ford Pinto can do over 120MPH*
*If dropped without a chute from the cargo hold of a C-130 at maximum altitude.
