Would be nice if it passes, sporting purposes removed

Representative Rob Bishop introduced H.R. 2710 and it is in committee right now.

I just read the text and it does some nice things...

1. removes sporting purposes in the US Code for ammunition and firearms (importation and manufacture), and substitutes "for all lawful purposes".

2. amends NFA to prevent classification of shotguns, shotgun shells and large caliber rifles from being classified as destructive devices.

No need to get spun up about this yet, since it needs to go through committee before it is brought to the House for a vote. There are quite a few co-sponsors already signed up for this Bill. This is the type of Bill Obama would veto as a stand-alone; but if attached to must sign spending legislation, it could be passed into law.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.
