They are indeed

Less than a month before I'm supposed to move to GA I got a summons in the mail for jury duty. I now have to try to get out of jury duty first :?

Here's a little side project I've been working on the last week or so, using pictures as my only reference for the parts and how they interact. It's a combination of many features of different handguns. I got a Glock 17 a couple days ago, so now I can do some real shooting.

Good to hear they're going to be making use of your talents! When you move here be sure to go to the new Sandy Springs gun club, great place and suppressor/full auto friendly.

Thanks, I'll be sure to take a look at that place. I saw the thread in the other section and it looks great.

Probably going to have more screenshots of various models soon...stay tuned.

I just have some constructive criticism on the pistol design. Personally I can’t stand guns with slides that taper. They look really cool but I find them harder to manipulate than a straight sided slide…yet another reason I’ll never buy a new HK pistol. Just sayin.

I see M&P/HK when I look at that.

I like the high cut trigger guard. Try squeesing 20rds of 9mm in that beast and have AAC make thier 1st pistol (why not)

I can see it now, The Remington SRP(Special response pistol) in 9mm. Black oxide finish with a small AAC logo on the slide. A perfect mate for a TiRant.

It was influenced by H&K P30, M&P, and Glock. On my G17 I noticed my finger rubs on the frame housing area so I figure a higher cut trigger guard would be great as long as I can fit everything correctly into the area. I noticed my hand slips a bit more with a tapered slide, I included the feature to see how it'd look. I think 20rds of 9mm shouldn't be too difficult.

Here is a setup with an XD upper and a TiRant. The XD upper isn't my model, I found it on the internet. Just for some eye candy...

I think XD's are generally ugly, but with a lower profile and different slide design it'd look alright. And it could use a better looking frame with less safeties.

Hi Paco,

Thanks for showing your work! I just showed this thread to my 14 year old son and it got him excited about some of the things he can make and it should give him a lot MORE motivation at school.

Thanks,
Darin

Howdy again, folks. I don't remember if I ever posted this here. It's a copy of an HK416, but it's not yet completed. I need to model the gas block and piston system still, and also finish the handguard.

The magazine shown isn't my model. I found it online, it was marked "Pitbull Products" and had the face of a pitbull marked on it as well. I don't know the name of the person who did it. This magazine model doesn't have the sheet metal overlay in the front like a USGI magazine, so it's not completely accurate. The username it was associated with was "Tracrrnd".

Paco That's my model that I had FUBob on CNCguns upload to the Firearm files site. I also have some other files for the 416.

Ah, well there's that mystery solved. How long did it take you to do the gas block? I assume you took measurements from the real one?

The gas block is not done. I don't remember how long it took all together, I just tinker with it here and there. I did not get the measurements from a real one just from pictures off the web. I referenced a lot of SMGLee's and other pics from various sites. I still need to find actual measurements so I can verify what I have.

Ah, so you do it how I do it then. I use SMGLee's photos a lot as well, especially his SHOT Show pictures on M4Carbine.net. The gas block costs $198, too much for me to afford, so I have to use pictures.

Hey everyone. From now on there won't be anymore picture updates to this thread (from me at least). Also, no files will be given out from now on, for free or otherwise. Thanks everyone, especially to those that helped me along

(To be read in Morgan Freeman's voice) It was fun, but it's time to move on to bigger and better things.

You've got some really sweet designs, have you made any to work with a p22?

I've modeled up quite a few that work with .22 handguns/rifles.

I just want to say congrats to you and to AAC for scooping up a talented and seemingly productive young man. I've been following this thread for a long time and it's been great to have watched you progress over the years.

Good luck to you. not that you'll need it; luck favors the prepared. Isn't that line from "The Incedibles"? It's true and you are prepared. AAC should be very happy. I know our industry can always use hard working, talented gun nuts.
